Not getting enough local traffic to your site? Have you used the same old local SEO tricks to increase your local SEO presence?
In my previous posts, I’ve talked a lot about the usual local SEO like citations and link building. But today, I’m going to show you the local SEO tips and tricks, that nobody else really talks about now.
Keep reading to learn to top local SEO tips if you want more local leads, traffic, and sales.
1. Use Google Trends
The first one of my local SEO tricks is to make sure that you’re using Google Trends. Google Trends is a free tool that analyses all the local searches in your particular area. To use Google trends, you simply go to the address and type in your industry and your area.
There, you can see what’s trending right now and has been trending in the last few months. And by trending, I mean that you can the search volume of these particular keywords. There are going to be certain phrases that are gaining more popularity and phrases that are going down in popularity.
To optimize your website, you need to find the keywords that are trending now or growing in demand. These are the topics that you can write content about. And the beauty of Google Trends is that you get all that data for free.
2. Increase Your Site Speed.
Local SEO trick number two is to increase your site speed. To do this, I recommend installing a plugin called NitroPack. It only takes a couple of minutes to download. If you use WordPress, you can just quickly search for and add it right away.
The power of this tool is that you can rapidly increase your site speed without spending too much time or money on it. In just a few hours, you will not only increase the site speed, but you’ll also improve your core web vitals too, which are becoming more and more of an increasing threat in Google’s algorithm.
The faster your page can load, the more likely they are to stay on the website. It’s really important if you want to improve your conversion rates if you want to get more traffic, and if you want to rank higher on Google.
3. Focus On Reviews
The third tip that I have for you is to focus on reviews and reputation management for your business. What I mean by this is encouraging customers to leave reviews. Some of these may be good, some may be bad.
The reviews you’ll get depend on your customer journey and customer experience. But you do have to be on top of this because reviews are not just important for local SEO, but are also incredibly powerful as a decision-making tool for customers.
If customers see that you have better reviews than your competitors, they are way more likely to pick you over their competitors. And, if you get bad feedback, that also gives you clarity on how you can improve your customer service to get better feedback in the future.
4. Use Local Keywords
Local SEO trick number for is to use localized keywords. If you have a list of content ideas that you could potentially publish an article about, it’s important to create landing pages on your site that are optimized for local keywords that are relevant to your industry in your area.
Here’s an example. If you’re a florist in Virginia, and the keyword is “best florist in Virginia”, then you can create a page all about why you’re the best florist in Virginia, including some customer testimonials and reviews that you’ve landed some information about your services.
When you do this, you really need to plan out your customer journey. Look at the keyword and ask yourself what your customer is looking for, the problems they have, and the solution you have for them. Then, create a page with an attractive design with a strong call to action.
5. Never Stop Optimizing
The last of my top local SEO tricks is to make sure that you’re continuously optimizing, tweaking, and improving the process. SEO never ends, which means that you need to be continuously analyzing how you’re doing things and then building and improving on them.
As a business owner, you’re probably very busy already. And if you’re running a website, it can be a full-time job. So, what I recommend you to do is to focus on the most essential tasks first. Focus on the 80/20 rule, meaning 20 percent of the work gets 80 percent of results.
What I recommend is scheduling time each month to analyze and work with your team on it. And if you can narrow that gap each month, you’ll see far better results.
